In compliance with the provisions of the Statutory Instruments Act, 2013 and the the Regulation Making Process, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority amended the Civil Aviation (Security) Regulations, 2020 to incorporate new and emerging needs and requirements as well as new requirements in Amendment 18 of Annex 17 to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.
The Civil Aviation (Security) Regulations, 2025 went through the Parliamentary process and approval by the Cabinet Secretary responsible for Civil Aviation, they were promulgated as appropriate for implementation on 3rd March 2026.
